Where It Began
Italian culture revolves around ‘il bar’. It’s a place where locals read the newspaper, watch sports, play cards, chat with friends, and, of course, grab a coffee. The bar was open from 6 AM to 12 AM, 6 days a week. The only time the bar closed was for one week in August.
It was hard work, but for the Mati’s, it was a labor of love.
